Following an absolute peach of a steer from Damian Lane, the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jr-trained I’mlovin’ya has impressed when taking out the Listed Talindert Stakes at Flemington.

Having missed the start on debut in the Blue Diamond Preview, the two-year-old Capitalist filly jumped nicely from the barriers and followed race leader and eventual runner-up Waltz On By into the race.

Having been bolting for a run inside the final 300m, the impressive filly needed clear air to produce a sharp turn of foot, and that is exactly what she got and produced.

Mick Price was not too keen on committing the filly to back up into next Saturday’s Blue Diamond Stakes but did not dismiss the idea all together.

“The question will be asked whether to accept next week, another seven days into the Blue Diamond, but I don’t know that one yet,” Price said post-race in his Racing.com interview.

The winning trainer went on to praise Damian Lane for his ride on I’mlovin’ya.

“He’s a very good rider D.Lane.

“Moody’s horse just there, get a tag along, peel off the last 150m, light goes on and bang.

“I don’t know if he is underrated but he is a very good rider.”

Lane was quite complimentary in the efforts of the Capitalist filly.

“She gave me the feel of a really nice horse.

“She’s not really big, but she makes it up with her attitude and she really tries,” Lane went on to say in his post-race interview.

Following her win, Sportsbet were quick to wind in the price for I’mlovin’ya in next Saturday’s Group 1 event with the filly a $21 chance having been a $51 pop earlier in the day.
