Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted February 26, 2022 Journalists Posted February 26, 2022 Last year's G1 Japan Cup runner-up Authority (Jpn) (Orfevre {Jpn}) was among the headliners of a strong Japanese contingent for Saturday's Saudi Cup card, and the 5-year-old got the nation off to a winning start on the day with a victory in the opening G3 Neom Turf Cup. Authority was in front from the word go and, after hitting the stretch full of run under Christophe Lemaire, held sway and hit the line a length and a half clear of a closing pack that was led by former German runner Kaspar (Ger) (Pivotal {GB}). Britain's Pyledriver (GB) (Harbour Watch {Ire}) had no punch after traveling wide throughout from his wide gate. America's Channel Cat (English Channel) suffered a scary fall in the lane after being squeezed by rivals, but appeared ok. Rider Joel Rosario was reported to be sore but ok after the fall.
