Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 29, 2018 Journalists Share Posted July 29, 2018 LOVE MY HONEY (f, 2, Shackleford–A J’s Honey, by Indian Charlie) entered this debut with a flashy worktab mostly at Keeneland and was backed early and often at the windows. Off at 8-5, the chestnut broke a half-step slowly, but rushed up to chase the pace three deep through opening splits of :22.64 and :45.99. She stuck her head in front turning for home, but was met with a stern challenge from second-timer and fellow pace attendant Into the South (Into Mischief). Love My Honey eventually wore down her stubborn foe, and shifted away from right-handed encouragement once clear. She hit the line about a length to the good, and stopped the clock in 1:10.99 while being hand-ridden late. A $90,000 KEESEP yearling, Love My Honey brought $155,000 at OBS April after a powerful-looking :10 2/5 breeze. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0. O-Three Diamonds Farm. B-Paul Knapper & Darby Dan Farm (Ky).
