Racing returns to Moonee Valley for yet another Friday night meeting, and HorseBetting’s Victorian form expert has run his over the eight-race program. The track is rated a Good 4 with the rail out 7m, which should see the course play evenly throughout, as it has in recent weeks, while racing commences at 6:15pm AEDT. Read on to see our top tips and quaddie picks for the evening, along with odds from Australia’s best bookmakers.

Moonee Valley Best Bet – Sunrise Ruby

Our best bet of the night comes up in the second leg of the quaddie when popular trainer Mitch Beer sends Sunrise Ruby to The Valley 1200m. Having last been seen finishing midfield in The Kosciuszko, the four-year-old Casino Price mare looks to be a horse on the way up. With four wins and a minor placing from six goes at 1200m and two wins from three starts when fresh, on paper she looks to be a near moral and will take a power of beating. From barrier eight, Teo Nugent will look to have her settled midfield with cover, and if he is fortunate enough to do so, then Sunrise Ruby’s turn of foot should prove too sharp for her rivals.

Next Best at Moonee Valley – Growl

The Ciaron Maher & David Eustrace-trained Growl is a horse with plenty of potential. Despite constantly finding himself in traffic issues in his initial campaign, he looks one of the better bets on Friday night. The three-year-old Written Tycoon finished fifth in the Blue Sapphire Stakes during the spring and was only half a length off the smart Minsk Moment in the process. Despite having just a Ballarat maiden win next to his name, he is a colt with plenty of upside and looks the one to beat over 1200m. His win at Ballarat back on September 19 saw him truck into the race with great intent, and despite being held up until the final 150m, he quickly put his rivals and looked to have plenty left in reserve. Growl is certainly better than BM64 grade and should be too good for this lot under John Allen.

Best Value at Moonee Valley – Okay To Pay

The Phillip Stokes-trained Okay To Pay is putting together some sort of a campaign this time in, having won three of her four runs. She was an impressive winner over the 1000m at The Valley on January 29, and coming back to the 955m dash should be no issue. The four-year-old Gingerbread Man mare beat home subsequent Sandown winners Little Stevie and Universal Lady to frank the form and is the one we want to be with in the opening leg of the quaddie. This is no doubt harder than her last-start victory, but Madison Lloyd’s 3kg claim means Okay To Pay goes around with 55.5kg on her back, some 5kg off top weight Fine Dane. From barrier three, she will track the speed throughout and should be the one hitting the line the hardest.
