Last year’s G2 Bendigo Cup winner Paua Of Buddy, Typhoon Sammy – victorious in this year’s G2 Traralgon and Horsham Cup finals – and three-time G2 country cup champion Ferdinand Boy highlight their respective heats.

The Watchdog says : INDY FIDO (1) meets a gun line-up; however, he is just as talented as any other runner in the event and from the good draw, I think he can cause an upset. He is armed with elite mid-race pace, and he just needs to be within two lengths of IDOLIZE (7) at the bend and he will give this a shake. Very confident of a top-two finish.

‘Must Watch Race’ Preview :

There are six stellar heats of the Group 2 Shepparton Cup tonight and this is an intriguing race. IDOLIZE (7) has a Group 1 win and placing in her past four starts, and she capped off a brilliant stretch of form with a win in the Shepparton Matchmakers Final last week. She pings the lids for a living, and she is expected to figure prominently again tonight, however the highly talented INDY FIDO (1) has come up with the inside draw and I think he is capable of causing an upset. His box manners can let him down, but I think he can step better from the red and he is armed with elite mid-race pace. If he can time the start, he should be very close to the favourite when they reach the bend, and he will then really dial up the pressure. YOZO BALE (3) is a multiple Group 2 country cup winner, so he must be respected, while the powerful KAHEEM BALE (8) has turned in some big performances of late.
