Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted March 15, 2022 Journalists Share Posted March 15, 2022 With the heavy track at Rosehill and few boilovers at Flemington, it made it hard to be too enthused about adding several horses to our blackbook. However, there is one runner from Saturday’s races that we are very keen to follow. Flemington | Track: Good 4 (Good 3 after R7) | Rail: +5m Entire Course Race 5: Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1600m) | Time: 1:37.32 Horse to follow: SO YOU SEE (4th) In race five, Michael Moroney and Jamie Mott combined with promising three-year-old filly SO YOU SEE in the Kewney Stakes. The daughter of So You Think was a dominant winner on debut at Pakenham, before being thrown into the deep end at just her second start in Group 2 company. Up against some serious fillies including Barb Raider, Argentia and Yearning, this girl ran out of her skin to go down by just one length in restricted room. She was doing her best work late, and the market support for her prior to the jump suggests that she has plenty of ability. When to bet: It will be interesting to see what Moroney does with her going forward. There are a few options for her: she could go to Sydney for races like the Vinery Stud Stakes or Australian Oaks, where we have no doubt that she would be competitive; or she could go to Adelaide for the Australasian Oaks, which is shaping to be a terrific race. Just back her wherever she lines up, she could be anything. A MASSIVE win for Barb Raider!
