Seven races will be run and won at Hawkesbury Race Club on Tuesday afternoon, so HorseBetting’s New South Wales racing analyst presents you with his best bets and quaddie selections. Unfortunately, we will be faced with a sloppy track, with the current track rating a Heavy 10, but conditions are improving. The rail will be out 3m from the 1100m to the 450m and then true for the remainder of the course. The first race of the day is scheduled to jump at 1:35pm AEST.

BEST BET: Rock My Wand

Matthew Smith and Ellen Hennessy combine in the second leg of the quaddie. The four-year-old mare hasn’t won for two years, with her only win coming on April 1, 2020, in a four and a half-length romp at Rosehill on a Heavy track. The daughter of Wandjina went on to run fifth in the Percy Sykes, before resuming as a three-year-old in the spring and running third in the Tranquil Star, and a solid eighth in the Group 1 Thousands Guineas. More recently, the mare has not been running too badly at provincial and metropolitan tracks in New South Wales, but she hasn’t found a race this easy on a bottomless track for some time. Her recent trial when third to Eduardo and Just Folk was brilliant, and she now resumes in a Class 1. She should be too good under the circumstances.

Best BetRace 5 – Rock My Wand (#1) $3.70 with Neds

NEXT BEST: Baranof

John Thompson and Regan Bayliss combine in the third race with 13-start maiden galloper, Baranof. The son of Hinchinbrook has shown plenty of promise, running a game placing in the Inglis Millennium in 2021 behind Profiteer, but he has just not quite been able to put it all together and win a race. Two starts back, the three-year-old ran well behind Overpass and Spellcatcher in the Inglis Sprint at Flemington, before returning to Sydney and running fourth at Warwick Farm. He doesn’t know where the winning post is, but he has the right form to be able to win at last.

BEST VALUE: Czar

Peter & Paul Snowden saddle up two-year-old Russian Revolution colt Czar for his first career start on Tuesday. The debutant has had four good trials leading up to his racetrack debut, and there has already been some good market support. In his most recent trial at Rosehill on March 22 over 1030m on a Heavy 8, Czar defeated Counttheheadlights by half a length, while previously he had trial form around Ebhaar and Rise Of The Masses. Tommy Berry has ridden this colt in his past two trials, and he has gone to Hawkesbury to keep the partnership in tact, which is a nice push. We are hoping he can prove too strong in his first time at the races.

Best ValueRace 4 – Czar (#4) $7 with Ladbrokes
