Zipping Scorcher is backing up quickly from a heat of the G2 Ballarat Cup on Friday night to contest a 450m Grade 5 final at Shepparton this evening.

Little Tiger and Distinguish – the other heat winner with Zipping Scorcher last Monday night – both have to be respected.

Shaka Big Tonks is aiming to extend his winning streak to four races in a Grade 5 450m event, while Code Cracker and Russian Berry clash in a Grade 5 385m race.

Prolific winner Rocket Boy v the promising Elite Jet v G2 Ballarat Cup runner-up Special Talent and Studley v Teddy Logan should be terrific battles.

G3 Great Chase winner Ridge v Disorientated v Bernadette v Maxwell should be a competitive Mixed 3/4 440m event in the highlight race at Sale this afternoon.

ZIPPING SCORCHER (3) has been taking on and beating some elite talent of late and he looks perfectly placed tonight. His box manners are solid, and his biggest asset is his turn of foot soon after box rise. He should find the top early and he may push the 25-second barrier. DISTINGUISH (8) had a string of luckless performances before returning to his brilliant best last Monday night with a slashing 25.27sec heat win. He would normally prefer a rails draw, however he possesses a wonderful turn of foot. LITTLE TIGER (7) has been placed in three-of-four here and he can show sizzling early speed. He missed the kick in his heat, so with a better getaway tonight, he will give himself every chance.
