Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 13, 2022 Journalists Share Posted April 13, 2022 Shepparton Matchmakers finalist Runaway Miss will be aiming to back-up her victory at Sandown Park last Thursday night in the last race at The Meadows this afternoon. G3 finalists Rapaki Rocks and Hometown Hero highlight their respective races, while Invictus Benson v Shepparton Classic finalist Jungle Panther and Taste The Gold v In A Blue v My Neo v Whiskey Road should be terrific clashes. Unleash Collinda – litter brother of Mr. Audacious – faces Aston Kennett in the first semi-final of the Bendigo Gold Rush Maiden this afternoon. Aston Exceed – half-brother of dual G1 champion Aston Rupee – and Brad Mayo – half-brother of G1 Golden Easter Egg runner-up Good Odds Cash – are favoured in the second and third semi-finals respectively. JYE’S JET (1) is an honest type and from the good draw he should be in the top two for the entire journey. OBOYA BALE (1) has turned in some fabulous performances to date and from the good draw, there should be no excuses and a top-three finish looks likely. Multi price: $3.62 $2 Place – I’M TALKING Must Watch Race First semi-final of Bendigo Gold Rush Maiden Bendigo Race 2 Box 7 425m 3:22pm TAB fixed odds: $1.90 Place The Watchdog says : I’M TALKING (7) runs into a couple of handy ones, but he handled himself really well when placed in his heat last Thursday and he should be better for the run. ASTON KENNETT (6) should give him a nice cart across, and I would expect him to be in the top three for most of the journey. ‘Must Watch Race’ Preview : ASTON KENNETT (6) was the fastest heat winner last Friday and he carved out a scorching 6.43sec to the first marker before stopping the clock in a blistering 23.60sec overall. He exited the red in his heat, so box six is a slight concern today, however if he can step on terms, he should have enough pace to put himself into a prominent position. UNLEASH COLLINDA (3) is a litter brother to the exciting MR. AUDACIOUS, and he was a brilliant 23.90sec heat winner last Thursday. He went quick through the first marker before getting a little tired, so with that run under his belt, he should hit the line a lot better today. I’M TALKING (7) was narrowly beaten in the same race, while SODA APACHE (8) can capitalise if there is some crowding underneath. His box manners are solid, and his biggest asset is his turn of foot soon after box rise. So, with a clean getaway, he should hold the top and he will be carving out time.
