The traditional Easter Saturday meeting at Oakbank greets us in South Australia this weekend with a nine-race card set to be run and won. Despite the Oakbank Easter Monday meeting being scrapped from the schedule, we are still set for a big day of racing on a track rated a Soft 5, with the rail in the true position. The first race is set to jump at 12:02pm ACST (12:32pm AEST).

Best Bet at Oakbank – Silent Sovereign

The formidable combination of Tony & Calvin McEvoy and Barend Vorster are set to combine with five-year-old mare Silent Sovereign in the second event on Saturday. The five-year-old mare was just 1.25 lengths off Sirleo Miss at Bendigo on April 2, which is form that stacks up perfectly in a race like this. With a win and a second-place finish to her name from four second-up runs, we know the Dalakhani mare will handle the occasion and looks perfectly placed to bring up a fifth career win. With form around the likes of Our Playboy, Sound and Wentwood last campaign, this is clearly the easiest race she has contested in some time. Vorster will look to land Silent Sovereign in the one-one and with $3 on offer from online betting sites, she looks a clear best bet of the day.

Next Best at Oakbank – Sanblas

The Peter Jolly-trained Sanblas comes to the Oakbank 2150m on the back of three wins from his last five starts and is set to take a power of beating once again. Having stalked the speed last time out at Morphettville on March 26, the four-year-old gelding was quick to put a gap on his rivals and is drawn to do something similar this weekend. He draws barrier three on Saturday and under Campbell Rawiller (with his 2kg claim) will look to stalk the speed once again. With even luck at a crucial time, Sanblas is more than capable of putting a gap on a field like this and we’re more than happy to take the $2.30 available with online bookmakers.

Best Value at Oakbank – Flow Meter

The John Hickmott & Carrina Riggs-trained Flow Meter returns to Oakbank, a track he is yet to finish out of the top three at in four runs. The 12-year-old marvel won over 2150m at the track two runs back on March 30 when producing a strong turn of foot on the back of a genuine tempo. Appollo Jet and Good Girl Bella should make this a genuinely run 1900m affair, which should set the race up for Flow Meter to hit the line strongly lately and ultimately prove too hard to hold out. The fact $9.50 is on offer from Palmerbet is ridiculous and at the price, Flow Meter looks to be a great bank builder on Saturday.
