Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 15, 2022 Journalists Share Posted April 15, 2022 Uncle Bryn (GB) ridden by Mark Zahra wins the Powered Solutions Up and Comers at Sale Racecourse on April 15, 2022 in Sale, Australia. (Scott Barbour/Racing Photos)Uncle Bryn has won at his second start on Australian soil in impressive fashion, taking out the Class 3 $150,000 Up and Comers (1717m) on Friday at Sale’s inaugural Good Friday meeting. Trained by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young out of Cranbourne, the four-year-old son of Sea The Stars had six starts for three wins and a third in Great Britain before being sold and imported to Australia. “We were hoping he would do that. His track work suggests he would do that,” said co-trainer Busuttin. “He has a great bunch of owners, the Seymour (Bloodstock) guys and Neil Werrett and the guys who have stayed in him from Europe. It’s good to get the job done. “It’s a good feeling and what it’s about. “He was a good horse in Europe. His form and his price tag suggested that when he came over here. But he needed to do that (today) and he did it. “ Starting +170 favourite with online bookmakers, Uncle Bryn was travelling third last off the pace when jockey Mark Zahra pulled out coming into the bend. Making his run right down the outside down the straight, Uncle Bryn cruised up alongside Worthily who had momentarily taken the lead before pulling away for a 4-length win. “He just hit a good tempo, on the point of the bend I started travelling up too good. But I was able to come back in to cover around the 600m, I just didn’t want to let him go yet. “When I brought him out it was over in a matter of strides.” The win didn’t surprise Zahra, “I’ve done a bit of work on him, and he’s always given me the impression he’s a very good horse. “I suppose when they win like that it’s a bit of a ‘wow’, but I thought he would win like that, and he did.” More horse racing news View the full article
