Sunday's Observations features a daughter of Sea The Stars (Ire).

ATLANTIS (GB) (Sea the Stars {Ire}) debuts for Craig Bernick and Harry McCalmont in the maiden which saw the rise of Eswarah (GB) (Unfuwain) and more recently Lah Ti Dar (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Star Catcher (GB) (Sea the Stars {Ire}). Like the latter two, this 260,000gns Tattersalls December Yearling Sale graduate, whose half-brother is the G2 City of York S. winner Shine So Bright (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), represents John and Thady Gosden in a race containing Godolphin's similarly-unraced Life of Dreams (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), a Charlie Appleby-trained daughter of the G2 Lancashire Oaks winner Endless Time (Ire) (Sea the Stars {Ire}).

Aidan O'Brien trainee Fleet Commander (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), a full-brother to this year's G1 Hong Kong Gold Cup hero Russian Emperor (Ire), was unable to land a telling blow and finished 6 1/2 lengths off the winner in sixth.

 

16.45 Newbury, Mdn, £11,950, 3yo, 8fT
Shadwell Estate Company's homebred Morghom (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), a half-brother to MGSW G1 Irish 2000 Guineas third Mustajeeb (GB) (Nayef), won by an impressive 3 3/4 lengths at odds of 16-1.

 

18.15 Nottingham, Mdn, £7,500, 3yo, 10f 50yT
Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum's 360,000gns Tattersalls October Book 1 graduate Aimeric (GB) (Frankel {GB}), a half-brother to G1SW sire Aclaim (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}), shaped with promise as the 15-8 favourite in this debut and finished 1 3/4 lengths off the winner in second.
