Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 19, 2022 Journalists Share Posted April 19, 2022 What Bendigo Races Where Bendigo Jockey Club – Heinz St, White Hills VIC 3550 When Wednesday, April 20, 2022 First Race 1pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes A Soft 5 track awaits punters at Bendigo on Wednesday with eight races programmed throughout the afternoon, starting at 1pm AEST. Every race on the card has more than 10 runners, which should see value for wagering, with the popular quaddie legs starting in race five at 3:20pm. The last race is set to get at 5:05pm. BEST BET: Bors We will try and get punters off to a flyer here with the Chris Waller-trained Bors in race one. With Craig Williams on board, this horse has had seven starts now to learn what it’s all about and come into this on the back of a handy second-placing at Ararat last start. Williams has ridden this horse before, so he knows him a little bit, and after five runs this preparation, we think it’s time. He has not finished further back than fourth in all of those runs. The best of those runs was arguably a second-placing at Moonee Valley on March 4 when he was a beaten favourite (a nose). He has been costly for punters having started favourite four of seven starts (and will likely again), but is staying at 1600m and being 100 per cent fit for this. Best Bet Race 1 – #1 Bors 3yo Gelding | T: Chris Waller | J: Craig Williams (59kg) $2.10 with Bet365 NEXT BEST: Stay In Touch Barrier one will be a big help for Stay In Touch, who has started her career in excellent form. She has won three of four, with all of her wins being close margins, which suggests to us that the timing of her runs is important. She has been freshened but did trial quite nicely at Avoca last week, so she wouldn’t have lost too much fitness from her first campaign. The stable has chosen to keep her at 1000m, and we expect her to be able to position up behind the early leader in this race. There are some handy horses in this, so she won’t want to get too far back and get buried away on the inside, but with Michael Poy on board it should be a positive run. Next Best Race 6 – #5 Stay In Touch 4yo Mare | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: Michael Poy (58.5kg) $2.40 with Bet365 BEST VALUE: Yosemite This horse has raced in better class than this over the last 12 months and is always one you have to keep an eye on. Last race she was very poor when running last at Sandown Hillside, but her two unplaced runs prior were OK when beaten a total of five lengths at Flemington and again at Sandown Hillside. She tends to get a fair way back in her races, sometimes too far, but we are hoping the long Bendigo straight may assist with this issue. If there is a strong pace in the race, all the better for her chances. The last time she was seen here was a great runner-up effort when she flashed to the line late, beaten a nose. Don’t let this one get out to ridiculous odds. Best Value Race 5 – #8 Yosemite 4yo Mare | T: Robbie Griffiths & Matthew de Kock | J: Daniel Moor (58.5kg) $10 with Bet365 Wednesday quaddie tips for Bendigo Canterbury quadrella selections Wednesday, April 20, 2022 1-2-3-4-6-8 5 3-5-9 1-6-11 Investment: $54 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
