Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 23, 2022 Journalists Share Posted April 23, 2022 What Albany Races Where Albany Racing Club – 261 Roberts Rd, Torndirrup WA 6330 When Sunday, April 24, 2022 First Race 1:36pm AWST Visit Ladbrokes With seven races to be run and won at Albany this Sunday, HorseBetting’s Western Australian racing analyst shares his best bets and quaddie selections for the afternoon. The track is currently a Soft 5 and the rail is in the true position for the entirety of the course. Racing is set to begin at 1:36pm AWST with the running of a Maiden Plate over 1600m. Best Bet at Albany – Prince Ragnar In the third event on the program, Roy Rogers and Joseph Azzopardi combine with Prince Ragnar, who is coming off the back of an all-the-way win at this track last Sunday. The three-year-old gelding led from barrier to box over 1100m, recording a soft 1.4-length victory to break his maiden, and there is nothing to suggest that he can’t do it again in Class 2 company. From barrier five, Azzopardi will put him up on speed once again and he should take some running down. Best Bet Race 3 – #3 Prince Ragnar (5) 3yo Gelding | T: Roy Rogers | J: Joseph Azzopardi (58.5kg) $3.80 with Ladbrokes Next Best at Albany – Thehuntsmen Thehuntsmen looks ready to win his maiden at start 21 on Sunday, after coming very close to doing it two starts ago at Esperance over the mile. The Tracey Frizell-trained five-year-old has been in the minor money on eight occasions throughout his career, finishing runner-up on five separate days. The son of God Has Spoken has only had one start at Albany, running second on April 1 in his last go at the races, so he should be better for the experience. Maybe he doesn’t like winning – maybe he doesn’t know how to – but we think we will see him get it done on Sunday. Next Best Race 1 – #1 Thehuntsmen (6) 5yo Gelding | T: Tracey Frizell | J: Jason Whiting (58kg) $4 with Palmerbet Next Best Again at Albany – Without Reason Without Reason is one horse who we know will stay all day, so we are hoping that race six will be a proper staying test. Set to be run over 3100m, the Road To Jericho WA Qualifier looks a really nice race for Colin Webster’s grey six-year-old, who comes off a fast-finishing third at Ascot last time out over 2400m. The son of Dash For Cash has won four races between 1600m and 2200m, but he is always strong late at the end of the races, suggesting that the rise to almost two miles won’t be an issue. With an economical run from barrier three under Troy Turner, he can win this. Next Best Again Race 6 – #5 Without Reason (3) 6yo Gelding | T: Colin Webster | J: Troy Turner (56.5kg) $4.40 with Bet365 Sunday quaddie tips for Albany Albany quadrella selections Sunday, April 24, 2022 1-2-7 3-6-10 2-3-5-6 2-4-6-8-9-11 Investment: $216 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
