There will be winners galore when Diamonds Day, one of the south’s premier harness race meetings, takes place at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill this Saturday (30 April).

Ladies will have the opportunity to win a diamond ring, valued at $4200, courtesy of Coats & Schuck Jewellers and the Invercargill Harness Racing Club, through an on-course promotion that could not be easier. How to win this gorgeous piece of jewellery will be revealed next week.

Ladies will also be welcomed onto the course with their first glass of wine free on race day.

The other great prize is the opportunity to win a place in the final draw later this season for a trip to the Peninsular Beachfront Resort in Mooloolaba. To win the spot you must be on course on the day and be 18 years of age and over. Staff and committee members and their families are not permitted to enter and only one entry per person is permitted.

Diamonds Day is the culmination of several of the south’s major series and the day will see the running of the Nevele R Stud/Macca Lodge Southern Oaks Final and the Alabar Southern Supremacy Stakes Final, both races Group 2 events with stakes of $50,000 over a distance of 2700m. The other Group 2 race on the programme is the $60,000 Diamond Creek Farm Classic for 2-year-olds. The $30,000 Regent Car Court Southern Cups Final is also on the programme on a day where stakes exceed $290,000.

The day will feature exciting opportunities to win great prizes plus a great day of quality racing.

Vaccine passes are no longer required to attend so what better opportunity to come along for a great day out on Saturday 30 April.

The first race of the day is scheduled for 12noon.

Keep a look out on our Southern Harness Racing facebook page for more information.

Admission to the course on the day will be free.
