After studying TAB’s ‘All In’ market for the Group 2 Macey’s Bistro Warrnambool Cup (450m), form expert The Watchdog is keen to invest on Ballarat Cup hero Compliance to claim a second Group 2 country cup crown.

Eight ‘knock out’ heats of the Warrnambool Cup – the fourth and final leg of the Western Festival of Racing – will be held this Thursday night, with dual country cup winner Typhoon Sammy $4.50 ‘All In’ favourite.

Chasing his third Group 2 provincial cup crown this year after victories at Traralgon and Horsham, Typhoon Sammy will contest the second heat, with The Watchdog expecting him to advance to the $47,000 to-the-winner final on May 4.

“24.89sec PB, faultless early, Slingshot Jonesy is a bit of a concern because he can go pretty hard early, however if ‘Typhoon’ does jump on terms, he’ll hold the top and he’ll be getting the cash.”

Of all the big guns, Compliance has come up with the great draw and should be advancing to the final.”

Compliance and Karen Pitt share a moment.

Compliance and three-time Group 2 country cup champion Ferdinand Boy share the second line of betting at $5, with The Watchdog expecting Karen Pitt’s recent runaway Ballarat Cup winner to take advantage of Box 1 in Heat 5.

“Compliance is flying at the moment. Box 1, there should be no excuses,” The Watchdog said.

“Of all the big guns, he’s come up with the great draw and should be advancing to the final.”

The Watchdog’s $50 spend

$20 on Compliance to win at $5
$10 on Titan Blazer to win at $15
$5 on Americano Miss to win at $34
$5 on Unathi Bale to win at $51
$4 on Aston Merit to win at $101
$3 on Dynamic Prince to win at $101
$3 on Indy Fido to win at $101

Fifty Dollar Note

The Watchdog is also bullish about the prospects of $15 chance Titan Blazer, a Group 1 Silver Chief placegetter, which has drawn Box 8, from where he won a Group 2 Warragul Cup heat, in the final run-off.

“He’s probably one of my stronger tips for the series. Drawn out wide, this is his ideal distance range. He’s got that amazing turn of foot from the 200m to the 350m.”

The Watchdog expects $34 prospect Americano Miss, runner-up to Typhoon Sammy in the Group 2 Horsham Cup Final, to make every post a winner from ‘the red’ in the opening heat.

“They’ll have to go sub-25sec to reel Americano Miss in,” he said.

Looking wider, The Watchdog has identified Unathi Bale (Heat 7) at $51 and three $101 prospects in Aston Merit (Heat 7) – runner-up in the Group 2 Geelong Gold Cup Final last Friday night – Dynamic Prince (Heat 1) and Indy Fido (Heat 6) as representing tremendous value.

“I’m a big fan of Indy Fido. If he can find the fence, he’ll put himself into contention and if he comes up with ‘the red’ in the final, he’s probably an $8 chance.”

WATCH: COMPLIANCE (6) was a devastating six-length winner of the $50,000 to-the-winner Group 2 Ballarat Cup Final (450m) running 24.87 seconds on April 8.     Results
