In-form OLYMPIAD (c, 4, Speightstown–Tokyo Time, by Medaglia d'Oro) continued to assert himself as one of the nation's top older horses as he dug in and drew off in Churchill's GII Alysheba S. Off at 4-5 coming in with tallies in the Feb. 19 GIII Mineshaft S. and Mar. 26 GII New Orleans Classic, the $700,000 Keeneland September yearling pressed the early pace from second, but found himself scrambling around the home bend as GISW Happy Saver (Super Saver) came with a sweeping move. Happy Saver seemed to be going best at the top of the lane, but Olympiad fought back resolutely as fading pacesetter Weyburn (Pioneerof the Nile) found himself in tight. The final sixteenth looked like it might be a close battle, but Olympiad soon hit the gas and quickly kicked away to report home three lengths clear in 1:41.60. Sales history: $700,000 ylg '19 KEESEP. O-Grandview Equine, Cheyenne Stable, LLC and LNJ Foxwoods. B-Emory A. Hamilton (KY). T-William I. Mott.
