Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 8, 2022 Journalists Share Posted May 8, 2022 The exciting Amron Boy – a Sandown Park 29.07 winner at his second start – faces his dual G3-winning kennelmate Barooga Smoke and the promising Kelsey Bale in a Mixed 4/5 515m race at Sandown Park this afternoon. Cleo’s Neo – a Sandown Park 29.29 winner last month – stands out in a Grade 5 515m event, while Zarate v Dutch Impact v Capra v Mystify Kick should be a competitive Grade 5 595m final. Dual G2 country cup winner Typhoon Sammy is the headline act in a 350m Free For All at Healesville this afternoon, but the in-form Dr. Slats will provide strong opposition. Jack Out v Aston Latham v Slingshot Reaper is a terrific 300m Free For All, while potential star Action Girl is eyeing her 11th win from 14 starts. If he can step on terms, he should be able to assume control in the middle stages and prove too strong. SHIMA BOLT (2) will appreciate the vacant draw underneath and he is armed with dazzling pace once balanced, so with a clear passage, he should be able to put a space in them mid race. Multi price: $3.46 $4 Win – HIGH TRIBE RICO Sandown Park Race 3 Box 1 515m 2:43pmTAB fixed odds: $2.30 WinForm https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/766423790/race/3 The Watchdog says : There are a number of first starters, so there is a bit of an unknown factor, however they are going to have to be elite to beat him. His runs at Bendigo to date have been huge and if he can bring that form to town, he should be able to go sub 29.40sec at his first look. $2 Win – KELSEY BALE Must Watch Race Mixed Grade 4/5 Sandown Park Race 8 Box 1 515m 4:22pm TAB fixed odds: $3.20 Win The Watchdog says : KELSEY BALE (1) carved out a scorching 29.73sec at The Meadows two runs back and a similar run today should see her go sub 29.20sec. AMRON BOY (2) has a faster personal best, however it is hard to come from off the pace and produce that sort of time, so if KELSEY BALE can hold the top through the turn, she will prove hard to reel in. ‘Must Watch Race’ Preview : AMRON BOY (2) burst onto the scene with four devastating wins here in his first four starts and one of those was in a breathtaking 29.07sec. He hasn’t had a lot of luck since rising in class, so with the small line-up today, he should be able to regain some much needed confidence. KELSEY BALE (1) has come up with the good draw and she scored an electrifying 29.73sec win at The Meadows two runs back. With a clean getaway, she is expected to hold the lead and she will be carving out around 29.20sec, so AMRON BOY will have to be at his brilliant best to reel her in. BAROOGA SMOKE (7) is a track specialist and rounds out the serious chances. He is poorly drawn, so he will need the two major players to bump up front, but if he is within three lengths off the back, he can make his presence felt.
