Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 9, 2022 Journalists Share Posted May 9, 2022 When: Friday 13 May, 12 noon to 3pm Where: Show Gate, Riccarton Park Sales Catalogue: https://issuu.com/windsorparkstud/docs/windsor_park_rugby_racing_and_beer_catalogue Following the success of their ‘Rugby, Racing and Beer’ auction last year, Windsor Park Stud have decided to make it an annual event and will return to Riccarton this coming Friday. This year the Cambridge farm will offer nine yearlings to the public. Yearlings are by current leading second crop sire of stakes winners Turn Me Loose, hot stallion Charm Spirit (sire of four Australasian stakes winners and five stakes horses this season), along with progeny by young stallions Mongolian Khan, Rageese, and Time Test. The event also helping raise funds for the Ellie Stokes Trust. Ellie set out to be an apprentice jockey before she had a terrible trackwork accident which left her a paraplegic at 16 years of age. Schick said New Zealand’s ACC system is far from enough so they will be auctioning off a few items that will go directly to her fund. Further to the auction there will be an excellent panel to keep guests entertained including star Australian trainer Ciaron Maher, former All Black Israel Dagg, auctioneer Steve Davis, and TAB Trackside presenter Matt Cross. Yearlings can be viewed on Thursday the 12th May at 2pm at the Visitors Barn, Riccarton Park racecourse, or alternatively by private appointment. The yearlings will be available for viewing on the day in the outside parade ring at Riccarton Park racecourse at 12 noon before the luncheon, following which they will be auctioned off under the gavel of Steve Davis later in the afternoon. Tickets cost $65 PP or $550 for table of 10 and they can be purchased via the following link:https://racing.riccartonpark.nz/promotions/duplicate-of-sports-luncheon.html The following agents have been to the farm and viewed the yearlings and are available to be contacted about the lots: Phil Cataldo: +64 27 483 8578John White: +64 27 476 5889Steve Davis: +64 27 472 7347Kane Jones: +64 27 247 4985Bec Perry: +64 27 600 0465 If you are unable to attend and wish to participate in the auction, please contact a member of the Windsor Park Stud team (see below) by the morning of the sale to phone and bid on your behalf.
