First Race 12:50pm AEST

Visit Ladbrokes

Warwick Farm will host seven metropolitan races on Wednesday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s New South Wales racing analyst has picked out his best bets and quaddie numbers for the meeting. The track is rated a Heavy 8 – just for something different – while the rail will be out 5m from the 1000m to the winning post and then 3m for the remainder of the course. The first race of the afternoon is scheduled to jump at 12:50pm AEST.

Warwick Farm Best Bet – Political Debate

Very well named given the situation in Australia right now! Political Debate, a Coolmore-owned son of So You Think is lining up in his second race start for mast trainer Chris Waller. The two-year-old colt was good on debut, chasing home subsequent winner Resonator on a Heavy 9 at Canterbury. Although the margin was 2.86 lengths, he put 1.2 lengths on Shirvo who won on Wagga Town Plate Day last Thursday, while Resonator won comfortably again on Saturday. James McDonald stays with him, and the wide barrier will ensure that he stays away from the fence and works home strongly late. If the $1.70 is too short for you to back on Wednesday, have a nibble at the $15 on offer for the J.J. Atkins (1600m).

Best Bet

Race 1 – Silk #1 Political Debate (10)

2yo Colt | T: Chris Waller | J: James McDonald (58kg)

$1.70 with Ladbrokes

Warwick Farm Next Best – Democracy Manifest

Chris Waller, James McDonald and politically based names can make it a running double to start the afternoon. Democracy Manifest could not have been more impressive first-up for the Waller stable on April 18 on a Heavy 9, taking some solid country form to the metropolitan meeting here at Warwick Farm. The three-year-old gelding dashed away to win by 1.75 lengths over 1200m, so the rise to 1300m should not be an issue. The son of Flying Artie would have taken some extreme benefit out of that win, so we expect him to be even harder to beat on Wednesday. He will be box-seating in the run under James McDonald from barrier three and should prove too good once again.

Next Best

Race 2 – Silk #5 Democracy Manifest (3)

3yo Gelding | T: James Cummings | J: James McDonald (58.5kg)

$2.40 with Bet365

Warwick Farm Best Value – Feel The Rush

Ciaron Maher & David Eustace have a consistent mare on their hands in Feel The Rush, who lines up in race three. The five-year-old daughter of Proisir ran a good fifth two starts back behind Nerve Not Verve and subsequent Sydney Cup winner Knight’s Order in the Group 2 Chairman’s Quality (2600m), before starting near favourite on ANZAC Day on the Kensington track and disappointing. Nothing really made ground that day and she got a long way back early on, so there were excuses there. From barrier one on Wednesday, Brenton Avdulla can use the gate to lead in a race which is lacking a speed influence. She can get a deserved win in this.

Best Value

Race 3 – Silk #1 Feel The Rush (1)

5yo Mare | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: Brenton Avdulla (61kg)

$5.50 with Neds
