Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 11, 2022 Journalists Share Posted May 11, 2022 What Cranbourne Races Where Cranbourne Turf Club – 50 Grant St, Cranbourne VIC 3977 When Friday, May 13, 2022 First Race 5:45pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes With only three weeks left of the Victorian night racing season, Cranbourne is scheduled to host an eight-race card on Friday evening. Horsebetting’s Victorian form expert presents his best bets for the night in a bid to build a bank before Andrew Ramsden Stakes Day at Flemington on Saturday. We look set to be racing on a Soft 6, with the rail returning to the true position for the meeting getting underway at 5:45pm AEST. Best Bet at Cranbourne: Jigsaw The Cindy Alderson-trained Jigsaw is set to be boosted by the booking of the returning Michael Walker and the fact he steps back into BM70 company for the first time in his career. He is placed at Group 3 and Listed level so on paper, the Manhattan Rain gelding should have panels on this lot and the fact online betting sites have him priced at $2.20 is laughable. He has gone close to 11-months without registering a victory, but if the brown gelding is anywhere near his best, he just bolts in. He was three lengths off Midwest and two lengths off Scissor Step when first-up at Caulfield, so a replication of that run, should see him bring up a third career victory. Both of his wins has come on rain-affected ground and based on everything put forward, he simply looks the best bet you will see over the weekend. Best Bet Race 5 – #4 Jigsaw (3) 3yo Gelding | T: Cindy Alderson | J: Michael Walker (60.5kg) $2.20 with Neds Next Best at Cranbourne: Ampere We were with the Mick Kent-trained Ampere when she won her maiden at Pakenham on April 28 and from what we saw, she was a mare worth following wherever she went next. Having gained a gun run in transit, the Shocking mare took the lead inside the final furlong and looked to have the race shot to bits a long way out from home. Despite drawing barrier 10, we expect to see Ethan Brown roll forward on the four-year-old mare and have her settled outside the leader or in the one-one at worst. She looks to be a mare with above average ability and if Ampere can replicate a similar performance to what she did in her maiden win, then the step into BM64 grade should prove a walk in the park. We are happy to load into the $3.20 on offer with online bookmakers. Next Best Race 7 – #4 Ampere (10) 4yo Mare | T: Mick Kent | J: Ethan Brown (59kg) $2.50 with Bet365 Best Value at Cranbourne: Figo The Great The Jason Warren & Dean Krongold-trained Figo The Great is one of the most consistent stayers going around at BM64 level and at a nice price on Friday, looks to be a good bet in the second leg of the quaddie. From barrier seven, we anticipate Daniel Stackhouse will look to use the Magnus gelding’s front running nature to his advantage and have him the field up throughout, much the same as he did when saluting at Stony Creek four starts ago. With a couple of quiet sectionals and decent form behind him, Figo The Great will take some running down. Best Value Race 6 – #4 Figo The Great (7) 3yo Gelding | T: Jason Warren & Dean Krongold | J: Daniel Stackhouse (58kg) $7 with Ladbrokes Friday quaddie tips for Cranbourne Cranbourne quadrella selections Friday, May 13, 2022 4 1-2-3-4-5-8 1-4 1-2-3-4-5 Investment: $60 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
