Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 12, 2022 Journalists Share Posted May 12, 2022 What Andrew Ramsden Stakes Day 2022 Where Flemington Racecourse – 448 Epsom Rd, Flemington VIC 3031 When Saturday, May 14, 2022 First Race 11:55am AEST Visit Ladbrokes Racing returns to Flemington Racecourse on Saturday afternoon for Andrew Ramsden Stakes Day. Perfect conditions are set to greet us this weekend, with the track rated a Good 4 and the rail out 2m for the entire circuit, meaning every runner should get their chance throughout the day if good enough. The first of nine races is set to jump at 11:55am AEST. Andrew Ramsden Stakes Top Tip – Point Nepean Win and you are into the 2022 Melbourne Cup – that is what’s on offer in the Andrew Ramsden Stakes over 2800m this Saturday. Having won his last two starts, the Robert Hickmott-trained Point Nepean looks to have a touch of untapped ability compared to some of his rivals. With the likes of Zoumon and Splendiferous looking to take up the running, we expect to see Alana Kelly settle the Camelot colt on their heels throughout. Having finished off decently enough despite doing plenty wrong at Caulfield last time out, he looks to have a bit of X-factor about him and will take some holding out. Following his win at Bendigo two starts back, he was being aimed towards next year’s Sydney Cup, but with a win on Saturday, he may just be a genuine chance in the race that stops a nation. Andrew Ramsden Stakes Race 7 – #10 Point Nepean (10) 4yo Colt | T: Robert Hickmott | J: Jordan Childs (58kg) $4 with Bet365 Best Bet at Flemington – Adele Amour The John Sadler-trained Adele Amour wasn’t beaten too far when finishing fourth in the VOBIS Gold Mile on April 23. Now stepping back into Benchmark 78 level against her own sex, she looks a clear best bet of the day. The three-year-old filly chased home proven performers Imperial Lad, So Si Bon and Junipal last time out when beaten just over three lengths. From barrier one with 54kg on her back following Alana Kelly’s 2kg claim, she just looks perfectly placed in a much easier race than last time. With speed to the outside, she draws to do no work in the run. With even luck in the home straight, we expect Adele Amour to sprint clear inside the final furlong. We are happy to take the $4.60 on offer with online betting sites. Best Bet Race 4 – #12 Adele Amour (1) 3yo Filly | T: John Sadler | J: Alana Kelly (a2) (56kg) $4.60 with Palmerbet Next Best at Flemington – Dosh Fresh from a 29-week spell, the Grahame Begg-trained Dosh is set to go around in Benchmark 84 company for the first time in her career. Having won on debut over the Flemington 1000m, we know the Rich Enuff filly will handle the occasion on Saturday, and with two wins from as many starts at the 1000m scamper, she looks the one to run down. With apprentice Logan McNeil on board and claiming 3kg, she will go around with just 57.5kg on her back – a weight relief that makes her simply unbeatable, in our opinion. Barrier 10 looks to be an advantage in recent times down the Flemington straight, with plenty of winners coming out towards the grandstand rail. Under a well-rated steer and a genuine tempo out in front, Dosh should prove too hard to run down. Next Best Race 9 – #1 Dosh (10) 3yo Filly | T: Grahame Begg | J: Logan McNeil (a3) (60.5kg) $4.60 with Palmerbet Best Value at Flemington – Coolth Having put in an eye-catching fourth upon return at Caulfield, we’re giving the Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained Coolth a push at a nice price. He was held up at crucial point in the home straight but flashed home late to go down by 1.45 lengths in a race he deserved to finish closer in. Now second-up, the Dundeel gelding steps out to the mile – a trip he has won two of his three career wins at. When second-up last time in, he finished on the heels of Floating Artist, who would go on to bigger and better things during the spring. With a similar finishing burst to what he showed at Caulfield, Coolth should prove hard to hold out. The $9.50 with Unibet looks a perfect price. Best Value Race 5 – #12 Coolth (9) 5yo Gelding | T: Tony & Calvin McEvoy | J: Damien Thornton (57.5kg) $9.50 with Unibet Andrew Ramsden Stakes Day quaddie tips for Flemington Flemington quadrella selections Saturday, May 14, 2022 5-6-7-10 1-10-11 3-6-10-16-17 1-12 Investment: $120 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
