Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 23, 2022 Journalists Share Posted May 23, 2022 What Canterbury Races Where Canterbury Park Racecourse – King St, Canterbury NSW 2193 When Wednesday, May 25, 2022 First Race 12:50pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes HorseBetting’s New South Wales racing analyst presents you with his best bets and quaddie numbers for Wednesday’s seven-race metropolitan meeting at Canterbury Park. With more inclement weather around, the track is rated a Heavy 10, while the rail is out 3m for the entire course. The first race is scheduled to jump at 12:50pm AEST, which features a nine-horse two-year-old colts and geldings maiden over 1100m. Best Bet at Canterbury – Wild Chap Wild Chap could not have been any more impressive at this track and distance on May 4 when winning by almost five lengths on a Heavy 8 track. The five-year-old son of Toronado travelled sweetly in the run, before coming to the outside at the top of the straight and putting his rivals to the sword – swiftly. Trained by Brett Lazzarini out of Kembla Grange, this gelding seems to relish rain-affected surfaces, while his unbeaten record at the Canterbury 1550m course is nothing to shy at. Drawn well in barrier six, Reece Jones will have the last-start winner in a lovely spot and he should be able to win again. Best Bet Race 4 – #2 Wild Chap (6) 5yo Gelding | T: Brett Lazzarini | J: Reece Jones (a2)(59.5kg) $2.90 with Ladbrokes Next Best at Canterbury – Cross Talk Cross Talk was very good in winning his first two races, before the mile was a touch too far in his first racing preparation. The son of Keano won by four lengths on debut in New Zealand before joining the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott stable, where he won on his Australian debut at Hawkesbury on a Heavy 8 by nearly five lengths over 1400m. The four-year-old has had two trials in preparation for his first-up run, winning both by a combined 13.5 lengths. The wide barrier will be advantageous, as Tim Clark will be able to work across the face of the field to find the front, and he should take some serious catching. Next Best Race 5 – #8 Cross Talk (9) 4yo Gelding | T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott | J: Tim Clark (59kg) $2.00 with Bet365 Best Value at Canterbury – I’m Divine We have been confident that I’m Divine is ready to win another race, and her last start did nothing to hurt that theory. The Ed Cummings-trained three-year-old won brilliantly on debut at Hawkesbury over 1300m, and since then she has raced at Group 1 and Group 3 level, while she has been runner-up twice in lower benchmark races. The daughter of Roman Emperor threw the race away at Canberra on March 14, while last start she ran second to the very promising Democracy Manifest. Although she got beaten three lengths by Democracy Manifest, she put up a margin of more than two lengths on the third horse, so she had plenty on the rest of the field. From barrier eight, Hugh Bowman will have her in a handy position, and she should prove too classy. Best Value Race 3 – #5 I’m Divine (8) 3yo Filly | T: Edward Cummings | J: Hugh Bowman (57kg) $4.40 with PlayUp Wednesday quaddie tips for Canterbury Canterbury quadrella selections Wednesday, May 25, 2022 2-3 7-8 3-4-5-7-10-11 1-4-5-10 Investment: $96 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
