A bumper 10-race card is set to greet punters at Belmont Park on Saturday afternoon and Horsebetting’s Perth form expert is confident he can steer you into a few winners. Despite rain in the lead up to race day, we are expecting to be racing on the better side of a Soft 6 that the track is currently rated, with perfect conditions forecast.

The rail is out 9m for the meeting kicking off at 11:24am AWST (1:24pm AEST).

Belmont Sprint Top Tip – Kaptain Kaos

We were with the Michael Grantham-trained Kaptain Kaos in the Roma Cup on May 14, but he found plenty of traffic in the home straight and probably found the 1200m a touch too sharp first-up. He steps up to the 1400m for his second-up run and when second-up from a spell, he is yet to miss the top two in three runs, which includes three wins. Chris Parnham hops back on board which is a massive bonus, with the pair combining for six wins and two minor placings from nine starts, so we know Kaptain Kaos will be within striking distance when the whips are cracking. His turn of foot is electric on his day and with $15 on offer with online bookmakers, we simply cannot let him go around without something on.

Best Bet at Belmont – Top Of The Pops

There is no hiding the fact that we are big fans of the Dan Morton-trained Top of The Pops and we are happy to side with him once again when he steps back from the 1400m to the 1200m. He is a get back and run on type of runner, but considering the sectionals he put in last time out, suggests he has above average ability, which is more than enough for a field like this. He strikes a small field of eight once again, so despite settling at the rear of the field, he should not be too far from the speed throughout. He has an electric turn of foot and if Chris Parnham has him out of traffic, we simply cannot see how Top Of The Pops gets beaten. He has three wins from three starts and that perfect record should be staying intact this weekend.

Next Best at Belmont – The Velvet Queen

The Darren McAuliffe-trained The Velvet Queen looks perfectly placed to turn the tables on Zephyra who got the better of her over the Belmont 1400m when they last met on May 14. The pair step up to the 1650m, which looks to suit The Velvet Queen, based on the fact she was doing her best work late over 1400m when going down by under a length. The three-year-old filly jumps from barrier one on Saturday and if Chris Parnham gains even luck approaching the home straight, then The Velvet Queen should simply prove too hard to hold out. The $2.10 on offer with online betting sites looks to be the perfect double up.

Best Value at Belmont – Stella Fair

In the second leg of the quaddie, we will be hoping the formidable duo of Adam Durrant & Clint Johnston-Porter can strike once again, this time with Stella Fair. The four-year-old mare put in a shocker last time out over the Belmont 1400m, but prior to that, she had won four of her last six starts to suggest she should take some beating in this on Saturday. Jumping from barrier six, the Trade Fair mare looks to be the sole leader on paper and if she can gain a cheap sectional or two, we expect Stella Fair will take some running down under a well-rated ride from Johnston-Porter. The $8 with Unibet is an inviting price to load into.
