Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 27, 2022 Journalists Share Posted May 27, 2022 What Gunnedah Cup Day 2022 Where Gunnedah Racecourse – Carroll Rd, Gunnedah NSW 2380 When Sunday, May 29, 2022 First Race 12:15pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Eight races will be run at Gunnedah Racecourse on Sunday afternoon, with the Gunnedah Showcase Cup (1600m) the feature event. HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst presents his top pick in the Cup, as well as his best bets and quaddie numbers for the remainder of the afternoon. The rail will be in the true position, the track is rated a Soft 6, and racing gets underway at 12:15pm AEST. Gunnedah Cup Best Bet – The Scotsman We are siding with the race favourite, who is now searching for a third-straight victory. The Scotsman won well at Cowra two starts ago, before leading all of the way in the Gooree Cup at Mudgee three weeks ago to win by nearly four lengths. Trained at Mudgee by David Smith, this eight-time winner will be having his first spin around the Gunnedah track on Sunday afternoon. From barrier five, apprentice Zac Wadick will take this seven-year-old son of Excites to the front, and with only 53.5kg on his back he should take plenty of running down. Gunnedah Cup Best Bet Race 7 – #9 The Scotsman (5) 7yo Gelding | T: David Smith | J: Zac Wadick (a3)(56.5kg) $3.90 with Palmerbet Best Best at Gunnedah – Ice In Vancouver The short way looks the easy way home in the sixth, with class galloper Ice In Vancouver likely to find the front from the inside alley and lead all of the way. The Cody Morgan-trained four-year-old hasn’t raced since his win in track-record time in the Tamworth Newmarket in December, but an April trial win suggested he has come back in good order. With Aaron Bullock in the saddle from barrier one, Ice In Vancouver looks to have every chance to make it win five at start 10. Best Bet Race 6 – #3 Ice In Vancouver (1) 4yo Gelding | T: Cody Morgan | J: Aaron Bullock (57.5kg) $1.90 with Neds Best Value at Gunnedah – Corvo Corvo is yet to win in six New South Wales starts, but the former Tony Gollan runner finds himself in a very winnable race on Sunday. The four-year-old son of Spirit Of Boom has been the runner-up on two separate occasions, finishing as the bridesmaid at Mudgee and Wellington, with his second-place effort at Wellington coming behind the Country Championships Final third-placegetter, Amulet Street. Despite an ordinary draw in barrier 13, Bailey Wheeler will likely go back towards the tail of the field and look to wind up late. Best Value Race 2 – #2 Corvo (13) 4yo Gelding | T: Kieren Hazelton | J: Bailey Wheeler (a2)(60.5kg) $8 with Ladbrokes Sunday quaddie tips for Gunnedah Gunnedah quadrella selections Sunday, May 29, 2022 2-3-5-7 3 1-4-9 2-3-5 Investment: $36 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
