A seven-race card is set to be run and won on the Pakenham synthetic track on Monday afternoon and HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets, top odds and free quaddie numbers. With the rail in the true position throughout we are guaranteed to see a competitive day of racing to kick off the working week, with the meeting getting underway at 1:30pm AEST.

Best Bet at Pakenham – Riverina Cyclone

There are no prizes for tipping a $1.70 shot, but the Matt Laurie-trained Riverina Cyclone simply looks perfectly placed and a class above some of these. The three-year-old filly bought up a deserved maiden victory at Cranbourne on May 13 when saluting by over four-lengths in a dominant all the way victory. From nine runs, she has only missed the top three twice, one of which came in the VOBIS Sires Guineas two starts back when chasing home Chartres at Caulfield. On Monday, the plan looks to be simple for Ethan Brown, get her out of the barriers cleanly, find the rail and lead throughout. The 61kg is a slight query, but Riverina Cyclone looks a class above her rivals.

Next Best at Pakenham – Cashmere Inn

The Phillip Stokes-trained Cashmere Inn has shown a bit of promise in her two career starts thus far and we expect on Monday afternoon she will break her maiden tag when she steps out over 1200m. The three-year-old filly was trapped three wide last time out at Moe and weakened to finish fourth, beaten by over five lengths. However, her debut run also at Moe, showed she may have a bright future going forward. She was held up until the final 100m on that day, but unleashed a strong finishing burst late to grab third. With even luck, she finishes closer in that run. She looks to be a filly who will appreciate the synthetic, as we expect Zac Spain will look to roll forward from the wide barrier (8) and dictate terms. The $5 with Unibet looks to be a nice price to dive into.

Best Value at Pakenham – Big Darryl

The Andrew Homann-trained Big Darryl rarely runs a bad race but has trouble finding the finish line in first place. The seven-year-old gelding has had six starts on synthetic tracks for three runner-up performances. Despite winning just twice from 31 career starts, he looks well placed from Homann, with the Kaphero gelding most likely settling outside the leader in this. With an appreciation for the synthetic and genuine front-running pattern, we expect Monday will be the day Big Darryl returns to the winner’s stall. The $11 with online betting sites is hard to pass up, if he is at his best.
