The consistent THERE GOES HARVARD (c, 4, Will Take Charge–Soul Crusader, by Fusaichi Pegasus), whose lone prior stakes outing was a second-place run in last year's Ellis Park Derby, belied 8-1 odds Monday to take Santa Anita's five-horse GI Hollywood Gold Cup. The Cannon Thoroughbreds homebred saved every inch of ground from his rail draw before tipping out and reeling in pacesetter Defunded (Dialed In) en route to a one-length victory in 2:02.66. Royal Ship (Brz) (Midshipman) was third. The winner had missed the board just once in 11 prior tries, and was entering off an optional claiming tally going a mile on the grass May 14.
