Queensland racing on Sunday heads up the Bruce Highway to the Sunshine Coast, with six races to be run and won at Corbould Park. HorseBetting’s Queensland racing analyst has found three horses to back on Sunday, while he also provides you with his suggested quaddie numbers. The track is still a Heavy 8, while the rail is out 5m from the 800m to the 400m – including the 1000m chute – and then just 3m for the remainder of the course. The first race of at the Sunshine Coast will jump at 1pm AEST.

Best Bet at Sunshine Coast – Sneaky Starter

We haven’t seen the Mick Mair-trained filly since her midfield performance in January’s $2 million Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic, but if she has improved since then, she should be too good on Sunday. The two-year-old daughter of Press Statement has won two of her five starts, with both of those wins coming over 1000m at this track, so she gets perfect conditions on Sunday. While a genuine heavy track will be a query, she did beat Perfect Mission on a Soft 7 in her final lead up to the Magic Millions. Tiffani Brooker has ridden her every start, so she will know just how to ride her and give her a chance to win a third race.

Next Best at Sunshine Coast – Amathuba

We actually made Amathuba our ‘Next Best’ on Friday night, but trainers Richard & Will Freedman have opted to wait a couple of days and run on Sunday. We can be even more confident about the last start winner’s chances on Sunday afternoon, as the horse she beat last time out at Eagle Farm, Delyth, won well on Thursday at Ipswich franking the form. The three-year-old filly, by Pride Of Dubai, had placed in six of her first seven starts, but did look to have put it all together when winning her maiden by half a length on May 4, albeit on a Good 4 deck. The Heavy 8 is a concern, but she has placed twice on soft going to suggest that she will handle it, while her sire won a Group 1 on a Soft 7. Samantha Collett can lift her home.

Best Value at Sunshine Coast – Aliraaj

After winning by 5.25 lengths in maiden company at his fourth start, Aliraaj took another 13 runs to find winning form again, but he has now gone on with it. The Matt Kropp-trained four-year-old has now won three of his last four starts, all of which have been on wet tracks. The son of Iffraaj has raced once on the Sunshine Coast for a third, while it will be the first time he steps out to 2400m. Micheal Hellyer hops back in the saddle after winning at Dalby and then again at Ipswich aboard the in-form stayer, so we are backing his riding capabilities to get this horse home once again.
