'TDN Rising Star' EMMANUEL (c, 3, More Than Ready–Hard Cloth, by Hard Spun) made his turf debut a winning on with a front-running score in the GII Pennine Ridge S. Saturday at Belmont. Seizing the early advantage, the 9-5 chalk walked the dog on a clear lead through early splits of :25.19 and :51.72. Still on cruise control beneath Irad Ortiz as three-quarters went in a leisurely 1:15.91, the $350,000 KEESEP acquisition was confronted by his foes entering the turn, but he still had plenty left in the tank. Emmanuel floated off the fence a bit in the lane, but coasted clear with ease to give Ortiz his fourth win on the card in 1:51.11. Napoleonic War (War Front) was the runner-up. Lifetime Record: 5-3-0-1.
