Western Blazer is aiming to win his third-straight race at Sandown Park this afternoon in a Grade 5 515m final despite lining up against up-and-coming chasers Zipping Viking, Our Tie Breaker and Street Of Dreams.

Three heats of the $10,000 to-the-winner Judy Hayley Memorial are also being staged.

Dr. Slats and G1 Harrison-Dawson finalist Bang highlight their respective at Healesville, while Braemar Prince v Duncan v Cybertruck, Shima Sheen v dual G1 finalist Jepara v Slingshot Reaper, and dual Group placegetter Aston Merit v Flying Pie should all be tremendous contests.

Dual G1 finalist Immunity is the standout chaser at Sale this evening, while Healesville Oaks winner Lady Wynal is also in action.

The Watchdog says : WESTERN BLAZER (5) was brilliant last Sunday and with SAILOR’S GIRL (4) expected to move left in the initial stages, he should get a nice cart across into the bend and then head to the back straight with a nice break.

WESTERN BLAZER (5) has always shown enormous potential and he has been brilliant since resuming. He showed a tremendous turn of foot in his 29.76sec heat win last Sunday and with SAILOR’S GIRL (4) expected to carve left early on, he should get a great run into the first bend today. ZIPPING VIKING (1) is another serious up-and-comer. He hasn’t had a lot of luck in his runs here to date but if he can step on terms, he should settle in the top three and he will be strong in the run home. OUR TIE BREAKER (2) has continued to get better with every run, while GOING ALRIGHT (7) and STREET OF DREAMS (8) both have talent, but they will need some luck in running.

The Watchdog says : OREJITAS (1) has a quick PB here over 515m and he is drawn to hold the early lead. The last 30m is a slight concern but this isn’t a strong race, and he should turn for home with a nice break. ALWAYS A THRILL (7) is ideally drawn out wide and he is a serious prospect. With an even getaway, he should assume control quickly and score. FEROCIOUS RUST (6) is a near faultless beginner, and he is airborne at present, so he should be able to cross in the early stages and a top-two finish is likely.
