The last 40m is a concern but he should have enough in the tank to finish in the top two. The exciting FIRE HOSE (6) is expected to atone for his defeat here last Sunday night. He already has some scintillating Bendigo wins to his credit and he is armed with dynamic pace once he hits the ground. With a clear passage in the first 50m, he should be able to assume control and he will be carving out impressive sectionals. ROMAN HOOK (1) has raced well here to date, and he has proven to be a reliable beginner. From the inside draw, he should be able to punch through and he is likely to make FIRE HOSE work hard throughout. BALBINA BALE (4) has the class edge over her rivals, and she powered to the line in her handy 25.50sec heat win. The draw hasn’t done her any favours, but she can charge to the line and an ounce of luck can see her hit the scoreboard.
