An eight-race program is scheduled to be run at won at Wyong this Thursday, and HorseBetting’s New South Wales racing analyst has found three bets and some quaddie numbers for the afternoon. The track is rated a Soft 7, while the rail is out 4m from the 1350m to the 1000m and then 1m for the remainder of the course. The first race is set to get underway at 12:10pm AEST.

Best Bet at Wyong – Oakfield Storm

Oakfield Storm looks beautifully placed on Thursday to extend his winning streak to three, following two good wins at his last two outings. The Kristen Buchannan-trained three-year-old proved too good at Coonamble back in March, before returning as a winner at Tamworth on May 31 in Benchmark 58 grade. The son of Capitalist goes up slightly in grade to a Benchmark 64, while the rise from 1400m to 1600m should suit. Despite winning by almost a length, he drops 1kg in weight to 59.5kg, which is going to give him a great winning chance yet again. He’s a clear standout.

Best Bet

Race 6 – Silk #2 Oakfield Storm (6)

3yo Gelding | T: Kristen Buchannan | J: Aaron Bullock (59.5kg)

$3.60 with Ladbrokes

Next Best at Wyong – The Milkybar Kid

Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott saddle up former Kiwi galloper The Milkybar Kid, who lines up in his second Australian start. The son of Reliable Man has only had four starts altogether. He ran behind Queensland Derby winner Pinarello on debut at Te Aroha, before finishing a narrow second to Canadian Girl in Te Rapa back in January. He had one more New Zealand start after that, and then made his Australian debut at Gosford on May 26, where he was beaten as a long odds-on favourite with online bookmakers. He has been back to the trials since, where he won well, and he now stays at 1600m with Tim Clark once again in the saddle. He should be much fitter for that Australian debut and will take plenty of beating on Thursday.

Next Best

Race 5 – Silk #1 The Milkybar Kid (9)

3yo Gelding | T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott | J: Tim Clark (59.5kg)

Best Value Bet at Wyong – Military Parade

In the last race of the afternoon, the stakes-performed Military Parade lines up in his third run for the preparation. Although both prior runs were pretty plain, we are happy to be with the son of I Am Invincible as he gets the blinkers applied for the first time. The gear change should really switch this Brett Cavanough-trained four-year-old on as he looks to recapture his three-year-old form, which saw him run decent races behind the likes of Annavisto, Ellsberg and Private Eye. He might not be any good, but we are going to give him another chance.

Best Value

Race 8 – Silk #1 Military Parade (2)

4yo Gelding | T: Brett Cavanough | J: Jackson Searle (a3)(59.5kg)

$16 with Neds
