Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 15, 2022 Journalists Share Posted June 15, 2022 What Wangaratta Races Where Wangaratta Racecourse – Racecourse Rd, Wangaratta VIC 3677 When Thursday, June 16, 2022 First Race 1pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Wangaratta will host an eight-race program on Thursday afternoon on a Soft 7 surface. The rail will be out three metres and the first race is set to take place at 1pm for the two-year-olds. The quaddie starts at 3pm, with the last race concluding at 4:30pm in what looks to be a very open race for the last leg of the quaddie. BEST BET: SENEGALIA FROM barrier seven, this in-form filly out of Street Boss x Catechuchu gets another great chance to knock up two wins on the trot after saluting Stawell on May 19. It was a big win too, being over five lengths for jockey Harry Coffey. The three-year-old has since been fresehend for this and she looks the class runner of the field. She stays at the 1100m distance and having only missed a placing in just the one start in her career, she is a model of consistency who won’t be paying big odds. Hillcrest Moses for Matt Laurie is ultra consistent and he will have to be respected. Best Bet Race 7 – #13 Senegalia (7) 3yo Filly | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: Harry Coffey (57kg) $4.20 with Bet365 NEXT BEST: The Problem With For Mick Price and Michael Kent, we think this gelding can overcome barrier 14 with Beau Mertens on board. He has only had the one start for a good third after he got back a bit and ran on well so we think Mertens will play it safe and drift back early. He has had three jumpouts in the last three weeks and he is fit enough to make an impression. Hardest to beat will be Poker Scene for Patrick Payne but we don’t think our guy will be too far away. Next Best Race 3 – #7 The Problem With (14) 3yo Gelding | T: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr | J: Beau Mertens (58kg) $3.50 with Bet365 Best Value: SQUAMI In Squami’s six starts in this preparation, the furthest that he has been away from winning has only been three lengths and he has finished in the top four in all of those starts. His last start at Cranbourne on May 20 saw him finish in second place after settling on pace and we think Simon Zahra will use this tactic again. If he does get back however, he has raced well coming from behind in the past so it isn’t a huge issue if he doesn’t settle in the top two early. Before that it was another second when beaten less than a length on a Soft 6 track so this surface should have no issues for him. Jamie Mott takes the ride for the first time after Dom Thornton and Logan McNeil took the mounts previously. Best Value Race 6 – #5 Squami (7) 4yo Gelding | T: Simon Zahra | J: Jamie Mott (59.5kg) $5.50 with Neds Thursday quaddie tips for Wangaratta Wangaratta quadrella selections Thursday, June 16, 2022 2-3-10 3-5-7 4-13 3-5-8-12 Investment: $72 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
