Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 16, 2022 Journalists Share Posted June 16, 2022 Haunui Farm Sales and Marketing Manager Shannon Taylor has been buoyed by the level of interest at the presale inspections for New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Weanling Sale at Karaka this week. “The weanlings arrived on Wednesday just before lunchtime and we were straight into it,” Taylor said. “We had 14 parades yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon and this morning has been steady and they are all coping, which is great.” Taylor said the Farm is offering a diverse range of weanlings in their draft. “We have got 15 weanlings in and we were pretty critical in terms of our selection,” she said. “We have brought four really nice Ribchester colts, which are his first foals born here in New Zealand. “It is great to be presenting them to the market. I think they will create a really good impression. “We have got a nice Super Seth filly (lot 82) for some Australian-based clients that has had a bit of interest. “We have got some lovely Belardos this year in terms of type. “We are quite excited about them and hopefully they can start performing to their potential and physical looks.” While buoyed by the early interest, Shannon said they are keeping their expectations in-check. “We haven’t got lofty expectations but I think we have a nice, even draft and they are pretty tidy weanlings and should easily find homes,” she said.
