Galileo’s Changingoftheguard Gets Royal Winner Number 80 For Aidan O’Brien

Making it an 80th Royal Ascot winner for Aidan O'Brien, Changingoftheguard (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) clung on in a photo for Friday's G2 King Edward VII S. Fifth in the Derby only 13 days ago, the G3 Chester Vase winner was taken straight to the lead by Ryan Moore and kept applying the pressure heading out of the back straight. Seeing off all bar the Derby 11th Grand Alliance (Ire) (Churchill {Ire}) in the run for home, the 11-10 favourite found the line just before that rival who had veered left across the track. Just a short head separated them there, with Lysander (GB) (New Approach {Ire}) four lengths behind in third.
