Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 22, 2022 Journalists Share Posted June 22, 2022 What Tamworth Races Where Tamworth Jockey Club – 28-42 Britten Rd, Taminda NSW 2340 When Friday, June 24, 2022 First Race 12:15pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes HorseBetting’s New South Wales racing analyst presents you with his best bets and quaddie numbers for Friday’s eight-race card at the Tamworth Jockey Club. The track is rated a Soft 5 and the rail is out 3m for the entire course. While there is no feature race on the program, it is a competitive card, with a few nice country horses stepping out on the track. The first race of the day is scheduled to jump at 12:15pm AEST. Tamworth Best Bet – Oakfield Storm We made the Kristen Buchanan-trained Oakfield Storm our best bet at Wyong on June 16 and unfortunately he just couldn’t quite get to the leader in time over 1600m. The three-year-old gelding now comes right back to country grade, and while the drop back to 1400m doesn’t look perfect, the horse should have a fair bit on this field. The son of Capitalist won well at this track and distance two starts ago when sitting up near the speed, so barrier five will allow Aaron Bullock to be handy once again, which should see him prove too good. With 1kg less than last start and 2kg less than his win two starts ago, Oakfield Storm gets all of the favours to return to the winner’s circle. Best Bet Race 7 – #1 Oakfield Storm (5) 3yo Gelding | T: Kristen Buchanan | J: Aaron Bullock (58.5kg) $3.50 with Ladbrokes Tamworth Next Best – Montari Aaron Bullock looks to be in for a good day in the saddle, with another great winning chance in the opening event on the program. In the first, Bullock teams up with Arrowfield’s Paul Messara to ride three-year-old gelding Montari in a Maiden Plate over 1000m. The son of Shalaa has been in the minor money in four of his six career starts, while his last two starts has seen him finish second by narrow margins. It doesn’t matter how many times you watch the replay of his runner-up effort at Muswellbrook two starts ago because that is as close a finish you will see on a racetrack, so this horse is pretty unlucky to still be a maiden. While he was beaten 7.5 lengths in a recent barrier trial, the winner was Burning Crown, and that horse has won six races, so we aren’t looking too much into that. This is very winnable for Montari to get the monkey off his back. Next Best Race 1 – #4 Montari (6) 3yo Gelding | T: Paul Messara | J: Aaron Bullock (59kg) $2.10 with Bet365 Tamworth Best Value – Impactful Impactful has had the groundings this preparation to get into the winner’s stall on Friday following two decent enough runs. The Cody Morgan-trained galloper is trained locally at Tamworth, so he should appreciate lining up on the home deck. The five-year-old son of Deep Impact hit the line very nicely first-up in a Class 3 Highway at Scone, before he was a bit lacklustre at Gunnedah on May 29 in the Gunnedah Cup. He’s now right back in grade to a Benchmark 66, but he gets the experience of our man Aaron Bullock in the saddle, and he has drawn favourably in barrier three. While 60.5kg is a big weight to carry, we are confident that he does have the class to salute. Best Value Race 3 – #2 Impactful (3) 5yo Gelding | T: Cody Morgan | J: Aaron Bullock (60.5kg) $7.50 with Neds Friday quaddie picks for Tamworth Tamworth quadrella selections Friday, June 24, 2022 1-3-4-7-8 1-2-6-9 1-2 1-2-5-7 Investment: $160 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
