Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 28, 2022 Journalists Share Posted June 28, 2022 What Sandown Lakeside Races Where Sandown Racecourse – 591-659 Princes Hwy, Springvale VIC 3171 When Wednesday, June 29, 2022 First Race 12:25pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes The Lakeside track at Sandown will play host to an eight race card on Wednesday afternoon. On a predicted Heavy 8 surface and with light showers forecast, runners will be competing with a true rail the entire circuit. Race one starts at 12:25pm, with the quaddie legs starting at 2:45pm and the last race concluding at 4:30pm over the mile. BEST BET: GATE CRASH WELL we crashed out on Gate Crash last time when he ran and we backed him to win as did a lot of others. We have forgiven that very poor performance at Sandown Hillside (6th) when beaten nine lengths in Saturday grade. Billy Egan takes the ride again and we are going on his excellent win at this track two starts back. He was backed into $3 with online bookmakers last time but we are hoping to get a little more in this race. He does usually settle towards the rear and did so again when failing last start where he faded over the last 150m. That race was over 2400m and it didn’t look like he ran the trip so we are liking that Patrick Payne has dropped him back to 2100m to see what he can do. Best Bet Race 2 – #2 Gate Crash (8) 4yo Gelding | T: Patrick Payne | J: Billy Egan (59kg) $4.60 with Bet365 NEXT BEST: HERE TO SHOCK For trainer, Brent Stanley and in-form jockey, Billy Egan, Here to Shock has a poor barrier in 13 but we think he is good enough to be in the top two in this race. First up from a spell on June 15 he ran well when fourth after running home pretty well. Before that he was backed to win here and he did while carrying 62.5 kg on his back and he led all of the way on that occasion. It will be interesting to see if Egan tries to get over from 13 and lead or if he tries to slot in. Before that victory it was a good run for a fourth at Flemington and that was the race which set up his win. Hicock has a good barrier in three and will be hardest to beat. Next Best Race 1 – #2 Here To Shock (13) 4yo Gelding | T: Brett Stanley | J: Billy Egan (62kg) $3.80 with Unibet BEST VALUE: BOYZEE We should get each-way odds with Boyzee here in a race with quite a few chances. He does have barrier 13 to contend with but he does have the ability to settle forward or back so Matthew Cartwright will have a couple of hundred metres to sum it up before the first bend over the 2400m. He has no issues with the surface having won on a Heavy 10 at Geelong on April 19 and he did place (3rd) second up last preparation where he was beaten less than a length on that occasion. Ciaron Maher and David Eustace certainly know how to train stayers and this bloke is ready to show his best we believe. Best Value Race 3 – #10 Boyzee (13) 4yo Gelding | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: Matthew Cartwright (a1.5) (57.5kg) $8 with Palmerbet Wednesday quaddie tips for Sandown Hillside Sandown quadrella selections Wednesday, June 29, 2022 2-6 2-4-8-9-12 1-2-8-9 1-4-9-10 Investment: $160 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
