A nine-race card is scheduled to be held at Geelong Racecourse on Friday afternoon and HorseBetting’s Victorian horse racing form analysts brings you the best bets and quaddie selections for the meeting. The track is rated a Heavy 8, with the rail out 9m from 1700m-800m and then out 11m the remainder.

The day of racing is set to get underway at 12:30pm AEST.

Best Bet at Geelong – Kiss Me If You Can

Patience is the order of the day on Friday, as our best bet of the day, Kiss Me If You Can from the Hanna Powell yard steps out in the last race over 1547m. The five-year-old gelding has strung together consecutive victories for the second time of his career and we are hoping he can make it a third straight win in this. The O’lonhro gelding managed to post a commanding win at this track and trip two starts back also on a Heavy 8, so we know he will handle the conditions. From barrier 11, Luke Nolen will need a touch of luck to lob Kiss Me If You Can in the one-one, but if afforded that luxury, it will be a case of catch me if you can.

Next Best at Geelong – Butter Blonde

The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Butter Blonde found the 1000m a touch too sharp at Mornington on June 13, so the step up to 1147m here should be ideal. She was left a touch flat footed when her rivals quickened outside her but did well to kick back along the fence to be beaten by the barest of margins. The extra distance on Friday will suit and from barrier 12, we expect Craig Newitt to take up the running and rate her a treat out in front. Both of her career wins have come on rain-affected ground and considering she boasts a record of 4: 2-1-1 when able to get her toe in, we know she will handle the conditions in front of her. We are more than happy to take the price on offer with online betting sites.

Best Value at Geelong – Confrontational

It has been almost nine-months since the Jason Warren & Dean Krongold-trained Confrontational last tasted success, but we are backing him in to get the job done on Friday. The four-year-old gelding has been racing in strong form without winning, having placed in each of his last five starts. He was beaten just over a length by Kiss Me If You Can, who we fancy later in the card and with a similar effort in this BM64 over 1765m, we anticipate the Geelong Classic winner from earlier in his career, will get the job done. From barrier 12, look for Dan Stackhouse to have this bloke settled outside the leader and with race fitness on his side, Confrontational looks like the one they have to beat.
