Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 30, 2022 Journalists Posted June 30, 2022 VELOCITOR (c, 2, Mor Spirit–Polar Plunge, by Successful Appeal) debuted second nearly one month ago at Woodbine and returned in a similar spot Thursday as the 8-5 co-choice. Sharp from the gate, he dueled outside of Confusing (More Than Ready) as the pair came away well clear of the rest of the field. Still heads apart around the far turn, Velocitor had the best of his rival as they straightened for home and made it a one-horse race from there, drawing off to win by 7 1/2 lengths. The win is the first for freshman sire Mor Spirit (by Eskendereya) who took the GI Los Alamitos Futurity at 2 and stands for $5,000 at Spendthrift Farm. O/B-Al Ulwelling & Bill Ulwelling (ON); T-Kevin Attard. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $64,110.
