Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 1, 2022 Journalists Share Posted July 1, 2022 What Warrnambool Races Where Warrnambool Racing Club – 2-64 Grafton Rd, Warrnambool VIC 3280 When Sunday, July 3, 2022 First Race 12:30pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Warrnambool Racing Club is all set to host a seven-race card on Sunday afternoon on a day where five races over the obstacles are the main attractions. The track has come up a Heavy 10 following an abundance of rain in the area, while the rail will be in the true position for the entire circuit. The first five races of the day will be over the jumps, while the final two races are highweight events on the flat. Racing is set to get underway at 12:30pm AEST. Best Bet at Warrnambool – Dance Of Thunder In the final race of the day, the Lindsey Smith-trained Dance Of Thunder will be looking to build on his first-up second at Donald on June 18. The four-year-old gelding’s only win in his career came when second-up from a spell, following a runner-up effort when fresh. We are hoping that is a genuine recipe for success for this Night Of Thunder gelding. Despite drawing barrier nine, the big chestnut is a get-back-and-run-on type as it is, which will negate the tricky draw. He has a win and two minor placings from four starts on rain-affected going, and despite his only failure being on a Heavy, we expect he will handle the conditions come Sunday. With plenty of speed engaged, we expect to see Dance Of Thunder finish over the top of his rivals. We are more than happy to take the $3 with PlayUp for this guy. Best Bet Race 7 – #5 Dance Of Thunder (9) 4yo Gelding | T: Lindsey Smith | J: Arron Lynch (67.5kg) $3 with PlayUp Next Best at Warrnambool – Yulong Place The Thackeray Steeplechase is the feature event of the day on Sunday, and despite the obvious class of Brittanicus going around in the event, we anticipate Yulong Place will continue his dominance in steeplechase races. He won his last two runs by a combined 37 lengths at Hamilton and then Warrnambool, both on Heavy 10s, and considering Britannicus is yet to run a drum on a Heavy, Yulong Place looks the smart play in this. From barrier one, we expect Braidon Small to follow his rival wherever he goes. If this six-year-old gelding is anywhere near the form of his last two starts, he might just have too much X-factor about him. Next Best Race 5 – #5 Yulong Place (1) 6yo Gelding | T: Lyn Shand | J: Braidon Small (65kg) $2.80 with Neds Best Value at Warrnambool – Tolemac It wouldn’t be a day at the ‘Bool if we were not with a Symon Wilde-trained runner, and on Sunday we hope Tolemac can continue his recent form when he steps out in the Kevin Lafferty Hurdle. The six-year-old gelding has three second-place finishes and a win in his past four starts, including beating home Yulong Place three starts back by a big margin at Casterton. With a career record of 7: 3-2-1 on Heavy tracks, the Camelot gelding has one of the best records in a genuine slop you could hope for. From barrier three, we expect Ronan Short will take up the running and prove hard to chase down. At $10 with online betting sites, we are happy to take the price and find out how he goes. Best Value Race 3 – #8 Tolemac (3) 6yo Gelding | T: Symon Wilde | J: Ronan Short (65kg) $10 with Bet365 Sunday quaddie tips for Warrnambool Warrnambool quadrella selections Sunday, July 3, 2022 3-6-8 2-5 1-4-7-10 5 Investment: $24 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
