Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 6, 2022 Journalists Share Posted July 6, 2022 What Goulburn Races Where Goulburn Race Club – 1 Racecourse Rd, Goulburn NSW 2580 When Friday, July 8, 2022 First Race 12pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes The Goulburn Race Club will play host to eight transferred races on Friday, July 8, as wet weather continues to wreak havoc in New South Wales. As such, it is no surprise the track is rated a Heavy 10. The rail is out 10m from the 900m to the 400m before a cutaway rail comes into effect in the straight, then set at 6m for the remainder of the course. The first race will jump at 12pm AEST. Best Bet at Goulburn – Golden Gate Golden Gate romped in on a Heavy 10 track at Newcastle on June 20, sitting up on the speed to race away by three lengths over 1200m. The Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou-trained filly carried 59kg on that occasion, which was also her racing debut, so the 3kg drop in weight should be ideal on Friday. Drawn barrier five, the three-year-old daughter by Nicconi should find the front early and give her rivals something to chase. Best Bet Race 4 – #5 Golden Gate (5) 3yo Filly | T: Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou | J: Andrew Adkins (56kg) $2.60 with Neds Next Best at Gouburn – Roma Avenue Mark Newnham and Tom Sherry combine in the fifth race with three-year-old gelding Roma Avenue. The son of Star Witness has raced three times, finishing in the minor money on all three occasions, including a last-start third at Canterbury. From barrier four, Sherry is likely to take the galloper forward, which will ensure he is thereabouts and hard to run down. His most recent start at Canterbury was on a Heavy 9, so back to a country maiden, you would expect him to handle the conditions and hold this field at bay. He looks a nice horse who will win a few races. Next Best Race 5 – #4 Roma Avenue (4) 3yo Gelding | T: Mark Newnham | J: Tom Sherry (59kg) $4.80 with Palmerbet Best Value at Goulburn – Vallauris Matthew Dale saddles up five-year-old gelding Vallauris in the last race of the afternoon in what is a suitable race. The son of Medaglia D’oro hasn’t won since February, but that was at this track over 1300m on a Soft 5. Since then, he has been competitive in a Gundagai Cup and in open company at Albury, so we are tipping him to go well in this Benchmark 64 Handicap. Originally allocated 59kg, Vallauris will only have to carry 57kg thanks to Ellen Hennessy’s 2kg claim. He will race handy from barrier 10 and give this race a sight. Best Value Race 8 – #3 Vallauris (10) 5yo Gelding | T: Matthew Dale | J: Ellen Hennessy (a2)(59kg) $9 with Ladbrokes Friday quaddie tips for Goulburn Hawkesbury quadrella selections Friday, July 8, 2022 1-4-8 1-2-5-7 1-2 1-2-3-9-10 Investment: $120 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
