The week of racing in Victoria kicks off at Donald Racecourse on Monday afternoon and Horsebetting’s Victorian form expert is confident he can steer you into a few winners. The meeting is set to be run on a track rated a Good 4, with the rail out 2m the entire circuit.

Keep reading for our best bets and free quaddie selections for the meeting commencing at 12:30pm AEST.

Best Bet at Donald: Jenny Jerome

Our best bet of the day Jenny Jerome is set to step out in the opener at Donald on Monday and following consecutive seconds to begin her career, this should be her day. The two-year-old filly had every chance in her last start second over the Donald 1204m on June 26, but a similar effort to that on Monday, should be more than enough. She returns to the track and trip for this and from barrier one draws to gain a near uncontested lead throughout. Considering she is third-up this campaign she should be approaching peak fitness and we expect she will prove too hard to run down. The $2.20 with online betting sites is simply too good to be true.

Best Bet

Race 1 – Silk #11 Jenny Jerome (1)

2yo Filly | T: Patrick Payne | J: Harry Coffey (55kg)

$2.20 with Unibet

Next Best at Donald: Peak Road

Having run on strongly on debut, the Allan & Jason Williams-trained Peak Road looks well placed to build on that minor placing at Cranbourne on June 22. The three-year-old gelding managed to settled midfield and grind away on a Heavy 9 over 1400m finishing third, just three quarters of a length off the winner. From barrier five, he draws to gain a perfect run in transit under the inform Harry Coffey. Coming onto a Good 4 from a Heavy 9 can only be a positive and the step up to a mile second-up this campaign looks ideal. This is not the greatest maiden in the state, so if Peak Road can run up to its debut effort, that should be enough to break his maiden in this.

Next Best

Race 4 – Silk #6 Peak Road (5)

3yo Gelding | T: Allan & Jason Williams | J: Harry Coffey (59.5kg)

$4 with Bet365

Best Value at Donald: Lady Ardoyne

We were with the Tom Conlan-trained Lady Ardoyne when she broke her maiden on the Ballarat Synthetic in emphatic fashion two starts back and we think she can on with the job here. Her last start seventh looks to be a complete forgive run, with the jockey noting post-race a concern with the filly’s action. From barrier one on Monday, we expect Alana Kelly to stalk the speed throughout the event and with a genuinely run 1620m event expected, Lady Ardoyne should be able to pounce on some vulnerable leaders. The $10 with online bookmakers is good enough a price to find out if she can transfer her synthetic efforts to the grass.

Best Value

Race 6 – Silk #12 Lady Ardoyne (1)

3yo Filly | T: Tom Conlan | J: Alana Kelly (59.5kg)

$10 with Palmerbet
