HorseBetting’s New South Wales racing analyst presents his best bets and quaddie numbers for Wednesday’s race meeting at Warwick Farm. Just the seven races are scheduled on what is likely to be a Heavy 10 track. The rail will be out 5m from the 1000m to the winning post and then 3m for the remainder of the course. The first race is scheduled for 12:50pm AEST.

Best Bet at Warwick Farm – The Milkybar Kid

The Milkybar Kid is the shortest-priced favourite of the day, but so he should be. The former Kiwi has hit the ground running with Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott, winning consecutive races in dominant fashion. The three-year-old son of Reliable Man will take up the running in this 2140m contest and give them something to reel in – a task which looks unlikely. Two starts back, The Milkybar Kid won his maiden at Wyong by more than four lengths, before winning by a similar margin on the Kensington track at his next start over 1800m. Brenton Avdulla will be able to control the race from barrier five and get this favourite home.

Best Bet

Race 3 – Silks #2 The Milkybar Kid (5)

3yo Gelding | T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott | J: Brenton Avdulla (58.5kg)

$1.65 with Ladbrokes

Next Best at Warwick Farm – Waverider Buoy

It may have been a frustrating weekend for Chris Waller and William Pike, but they can hit the ground running together in race one on Wednesday when they combine with Waverider Buoy. The two-year-old filly comes from the same family as Little Surfer Girl and is by Nicconi, so she should have some natural ability. We saw a glimpse of that in her debut run back in November when second to Calgaray Stampede. Having not raced since while only trialling twice, we are taking her a bit on trust, but we like what we have seen from her trials and have to respect the stable. She showed a bit of toe in her only race start, but Pike rarely revs horses up out of the gates, so we expect her to settle midfield and attack the line late.

Next Best

Race 1 – Silk #5 Waverider Buoy (8)

2yo Filly | T: Chris Waller | J: William Pike (55.5kg)

$2.30 with Neds

Warwick Farm Best Value – Stormy Rock

Last-start winner Stormy Rock looks well suited in the final race of the afternoon. The Matthew Dunn-trained five-year-old was eye-catching at Doomben back on Boxing Day when hitting the line hard behind Mass Destruction and Boomnova over 1200m, before having a couple of flat runs to finish off the preparation. Resuming at Canterbury on June 22, the son of Fastnet Rock showed plenty of ability when winning on a Heavy 9 over 1200m. Although never having won at Warwick Farm, he’s never run a bad race at the track, and the wet track will aid his chances, so we once again expect this horse to be hard to beat at solid odds.

Best Value

Race 7 – Silk #2 Stormy Rock (4)

3yo Gelding | T: Matthew Dunn | J: Reece Jones (a2)(60kg)

$6 with Bet365
