Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 14, 2022 Journalists Share Posted July 14, 2022 What Geelong Races Where Geelong Racecourse – 99 Breakwater Rd, Breakwater VIC 3219 When Friday, July 15, 2022 First Race 1pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Geelong Racecourse is scheduled to host an eight-race card on Friday afternoon. HorseBetting.com.au’s Victorian horse racing betting expert brings you his best bets, top odds and free quaddie numbers for the meeting, which is set to be run on a Heavy 9 with the rail returning to the true position. Racing is set to commence at 1pm AEST. Best Bet at Geelong – Nicstar We were with the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained Nicstar last time out when she finished fourth on the Ballarat synthetic, but Friday looks to be the day she breaks her maiden tag. The three-year-old filly has a racing pattern which is hard to knock, as she loves to bound along out in front and give her rivals something to catch. Her last-start fourth was the first time she had finished out of the minor placings, but with blinkers being applied for the first time in this, we anticipate it will be sixth time the charm for this daughter of Zoustar. Michael Poy looks set to gain an uncontested lead aboard Nicstar, and with a couple of cheap sectionals and a kick on the home turn, good luck catching her. Best Bet Race 1 – #12 Nicstar (3) 3yo Filly | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: Michael Poy (57.5kg) $3.20 with Unibet Next Best at Geelong – Mr Scorefield The Anthony Chibnall-trained Mr Scorefield returned with an impressive second on the Ballarat synthetic on June 28 where he appreciated a massive drop in grade. It was his first start since Boxing Day 2020 and he should have derived great benefit from it, so he might be the one to beat in the third race at Geelong on Friday. Having chased home the likes of Paulele, Profiteer and Picarones during his initial campaign, a maiden like this should be easy enough for him. We think online bookmakers have marked him the wrong price, with $6.50 on offer. From barrier three, look for Dean Holland to stalk the speed throughout before unleashing Mr Scorefield’s sharp turn of foot. He should have a bit of class on this lot. Next Best Race 3 – #7 Mr Scorefield (3) 3yo Gelding | T: Anthony Chibnall | J: Dean Holland (59.5kg) $6.50 with Bet365 Best Value at Geelong – Orlando Grove Having finished a long neck off Butter Blonde at the Geelong 1147m on July 1, the Shane Nichols-trained Orlando Grove looks perfectly placed to go one better when she steps out over the Geelong 1200m. The four-year-old mare threw away a victory when laying in at a crucial point, and might have won if she was able to run in a straight line. From barrier six, look for Celine Gaudray to position her mount midfield with cover. Armed with a strong turn of foot, Orlando Grove looks overs at the $14 quote on offer with online betting sites. Best Value Race 8 – #11 Orlando Grove (6) 4yo Mare | T: Shane Nichols | J: Celine Gaudray (a1.5) (58kg) $14 with Palmerbet Friday Quaddie Tips for Geelong Geelong quadrella selections Friday, July 15, 2022 2-7-12 1-2-6 2-5-13 9-10-11 Investment: $81 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
