Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 21, 2022 Journalists Share Posted July 21, 2022 What Morphettville Parks Races Where Morphettville Racecourse – 79 Morphett Rd, Morphettville SA 5043 When Saturday, July 23, 2022 First Race 11:47am ACST Visit Ladbrokes The Parks track at Morphettville will once again host a nine-race card as the metropolitan meeting in South Australia on Saturday afternoon. Small fields are the theme of the day early on and we will be looking to take advantage of that, with two of our better bets going around in the first couple of races. We are set to race on a Soft 7, with the rail in the true position, so there should be no excuse for any runners who tend to favour getting their toe into the ground. The first of nine is set to jump at 11:47am ACST. Best Bet at Morphettville: En Francais Following a dead-set gap job at Gawler on July 9, the Jake Stephens-trained En Francais looks a clear best bet of the day when she steps out in the opening event. Having put 7.6 lengths on her closest rival in a dominant all-the-way victory last time out, the four-year-old mare comes against just four rivals and looks set to build on her already impressive record. Having led throughout at Gawler, we anticipate Lachie Neindorf will opt to take a sit behind the likely leaders, Bookman and Danish Fortune. These two should be going at each other throughout the race, which leaves them for the taking for En Francais to finish over the top of them in the home straight. The $1.70 on offer with online betting sites is nothing special, but this one has a bit of class about her. Best Bet Race 1 – #4 En Francais (4) 4yo Mare | T: Jake Stephens | J: Lachie Neindorf (a2) (56.5kg) $1.70 with Bet365 Next Best at Morphettville: Cashin’ Chex The Ashton Downing-trained Cashin’ Chex has been kind to us in recent times, and we are hoping if we go to the well once again, he will reward us once more. The five-year-old gelding is yet to miss the top three in five starts this campaign and has added two wins to his name in the process, including last time out at Gawler on July 9. He draws barrier one on Saturday, which means he will need luck at some point, but with jockey Ben Price in supreme form, we expect Cashin’ Chex will be there when the whips are cracking. In the small field of six, he looks set to gain the perfect run in transit just off the leaders’ heels. This is the biggest test in his campaign thus far, but Cashin’ Chex has a nice turn of foot and will prove hard to hold out. Next Best Race 2 – #3 Cashin’ Chex (1) 5yo Gelding | T: Ashton Downing | J: Ben Price (a2) (55.5kg) $2.70 with Neds Best Value at Morphettville: Sunny Green With a bit of luck we have made our presence known nice and early in the day, and with a bit more, Sunny Green from the Garret Lynch yard can send us home a winner. The six-year-old mare will appreciate it if the track improves throughout the day, with all four career wins coming on firmer ground. However, the way she worked home when finishing fifth at Murray Bridge on July 16 was promising considering she made up a stack of ground from the rear of the field. From barrier 13, Kayla Crowther will have no other option but have this girl settled towards the rear once again. With a genuinely run 1400m event expected, it sets the race up perfectly for a backmarker like Sunny Green to finish over the top of some vulnerable leaders. Best Value Race 9 – #10 Sunny Green (13) 6yo Mare | T: Garret Lynch | J: Kayla Crowther (58kg) $10 with Palmerbet Saturday quaddie tips for Morphettville Morphettville quadrella selections Saturday, July 23, 2022 1-3-5-6 1-2-3-4-6 3-10 1-10 Investment: $80 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
