Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 22, 2022 Journalists Share Posted July 22, 2022 What Sale Races Where Sale Turf Club – 1227 Maffra-Sale Rd, Sale VIC 3850 When Sunday, July 24, 2022 First Race 11:50am AEST Visit Ladbrokes To round out another weekend on the punt, we head to Sale Racecourse for a tricky eight-race card. The rail will be set true and the track is rated a Soft 5, but dry weather over the weekend should leave us with close to perfect racing conditions where every runner gets their chance. The day of racing gets underway at 11:50am AEST. Best Bet at Sale – Nation Pride Following a solid-enough stable debut, we anticipate Nation Pride from the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr yard can break his maiden at start five. The three-year-old finished midfield at Sandown Lakeside on July 6 having been awkwardly away from the barriers, using tickets to get outside the leader, so he did well to go down by under two lengths. This maiden field is a touch easier than what he faced that day, and if he can be a bit cleaner away from the barriers, the Shalaa colt looks to have the most upside in a race like this. From barrier six, we are hoping Beau Mertens can cross those inside of him with relative ease. If he can do that, Nation Pride should gain an uncontested lead and be too hard to gun down. Best Bet Race 3 – #5 Nation Pride (6) 3yo Colt | T: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr | J: Beau Mertens (58kg) $4.60 with Ladbrokes Next Best at Sale – From Pantherland The Ken & Kasey Keys-trained From Pantherland bought up a deserved second career win last time out at Cranbourne on July 7, and we think he can go on with it here. He gave his rivals a start and a beating in that race, and this BM64 does not look any harder. That was over 1300m and the step up to 1400m this deep into a campaign should be no issue, considering he has finished second at three goes at the trip. Barrier 18 is no issue, as this bloke is a genuine backmarker, and with a genuinely run seven furlongs expected, the race looks perfectly set up for From Pantherland to finish right over the top of his rivals. The $5 on offer with online betting sites is ludicrous, in our opinion. Next Best Race 7 – #3 From Pantherland (18) 3yo Gelding | T: Ken & Kasey Keys | J: Craig Newitt (59.5kg) $5 with Bet365 Best Value at Sale – Swindon Lass The Matt Brown-trained Swindon Lass has been racing in much stronger races than what she faces on Sunday, and we expect the drop in grade will see her find her way back to the winner’s stall. The four-year-old picked up one of her two career wins at Sale, so that she doesn’t mind the track. From barrier 10, if Brian Higgins can lob this Wordsmith mare into a handy spot, she looks a great bet at a nice price with online bookmakers. She tends to settle better than midfield, and with speed drawn outside of her, Swindon Lass should gain a nice cart across the field and prove too hard to hold out from that point. Best Value Race 6 – #1 Swindon Lass (10) 4yo Mare | T: Matthew Brown | J: Brian Higgins (59.5kg) $8.50 with Unibet Sunday quaddie tips for Sale Sale quadrella selections Sunday, July 24, 2022 1-2-5-8 1-3-6 3-14 2-7-8-13 Investment: $96 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
