Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 23, 2022 Journalists Posted July 23, 2022 The GI Coaching Club American Oaks was billed as a rematch behind GI Kentucky Oaks winner Secret Oath (Arrogate) and runner-up Nest (f, 3, Curlin–Marion Ravenwood, by A.P. Indy), but it was Nest–back against her own sex following a second-place finish in the GI Belmont S.–who romped home a much-the-best winner. Nest took the early lead, but ceded her advantage to a rank Society (Gun Runner) who bullied her way to the front on the backstretch. Nest briefly regained control, but Secret Oath darted up to take control as the half went up in :47.46. Undaunted, Nest moved back to the lead and easily shrugged off Secret Oath in upper stretch before powering clear down the lane to win by better than 10 lengths. Secret Oath was second. Nostalgic (Medaglia d'Oro) was third. The time for the nine furlongs was 1:51.04. O-Repole Stable & Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners. B-Ashview Farm and Colts Neck Stable (Ky). T-Todd Pletcher. Lifetime Record: 8-5-2-1. The post Nest Romps in CCA Oaks appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
