Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 25, 2022 Journalists Share Posted July 25, 2022 What Sandown Hillside Races Where Ladbrokes Park – 591-659 Princes Hwy, Springvale VIC 3171 When Wednesday, July 27, 2022 First Race 12:25pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes A competitive eight race program will grace us at Sandown Hillside on Wednesday afternoon with gallopers racing on a predicted Soft 7 surface. The two-year-olds get us underway at 12:25pm, while the last race of the day will conclude at 4:30pm over 1800m. The quaddie starts at race five (2:45pm) with nine runners engaged to go around over the mile. Best Bet: CHATELAINE (race two) Over 2400m this mare gets her chance here despite being out of the top three her last two placings. Her fourth two weeks ago was disappointing but her three runs prior were very good and that is what we are going on. When first up she got the win at Kilmore over 1462m before backing that up with another victory at Hamilton on a Heavy 10 over the mile. On that race alone she shouldn’t have any issues with how the track presents and with this race being her second in a row over the distance we feel that she would have benefited from that effort last time. Billy Egan takes the ride and has the option to sit in any position with this one as she is versatile in the run. Best Bet Race 2 – #3 Chatelaine (2) 6yo Mare | T: Patrick Payne | J: Billy Egan (59kg) $3.70 with Ladbrokes Next Best: SANTERO (race eight) This mare loves wet tracks and the wetter the better for her so if the track does change from Soft to Heavy throughout the program then even better for this one. She has only been out of the money once in her last 10 attempts and she did get the win at her last start which was at this track over the mile. She increases to the 1800m which shouldn’t be an issue and we anticipate that she will settle around midfield to slightly worse of midfield before being wound up down the long Hillside straight. Next Best Race 8 – #4 Santero (8) 4yo Mare | T: Patrick Payne | J: Celine Gaudray (60.5kg) $7.00 with Neds Value Bet: MCKEEVER (race four) Despite running fourth last start this gelding was beaten only 0.4 lengths from the winner so its fair to say she was unlucky not to have run a placing. Simon Wilde has her ready now and has put the in-form Craig Williams on top. In her last five races she hasn’t been further than two and a half lengths from the winner and Williams will get the option to position her where he wants as she races well on-pace and coming from behind. Canbya will have to be respected for Team Cummings and Damien Oliver. Best Value Race 4 – #6 Mckeever (6) 4yo Gelding | T: Symon Wilde | J: Craig Williams (55kg) $4.80 with Palmerbet Wednesday quaddie picks for Sandown Hillside quadrella selections Wednesday, July 27, 2022 Field 2,3,4,5,6,9,11 2-8-10 2-4 Investment: $378 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
