Settled off the tempo in sixth as Japanese raider Bathrat Leon (Jpn) (Kizuna {Jpn}) made a bold bid to make all, he was eased outside for a clear passage approaching the quarter-mile marker and unleashed his storied acceleration inside the final furlong to easily outclass Godolphin's GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf and G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains hero Modern Games (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) by 1 3/4 lengths. Modern Games, in turn, finished 1 3/4 lengths ahead of G1 July Cup victrix Alcohol Free (Ire) (No Nay Never), who edged out Bathrat Leon by a short head for third.
