Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 28, 2022 Journalists Posted July 28, 2022 The proposed building of a soccer complex in the agricultural-rural zone that was previously Ashwood Training Center just outside of Lexington, KY has reportedly been abandoned by the Lexington Sporting Club. The project had been met with significant opposition from members of the equine and agricultural communities in Fayette County. “We are pleased that our community's strong desire to protect the Agricultural-Rural zone has been recognized by the withdrawal of the Lexington Sporting Club's backing for the 12 soccer field and 750 parking space proposal at the Newtown Pike site,” said a statement from the Fayette Alliance. “Fayette Alliance remains committed to advocating for equitable, sustainable and responsible growth in Lexington-Fayette County.
